Donald Judd, considered to be one of the major artists of the second half of the 20th century, represents the minimalist movement formed in the 1960s in the USA, as a reaction to Pop Art.
Despite its industrial manufacture, the chair #47 from the series In Color is finished by hand in a highly meticulous manner. It is representative of the work of Donald Judd with enamel on aluminium that broadened his palette of industrial colours which was previously limited to the colours of the anodized metal and plexiglass.
