Jean Paul Gaultier / Régine Chopinot, Le défilé

Taipei, Taïwan - May 29, 2010 – August 15, 2010

Jean Paul Gaultier/Régine Chopinot. The défilé, curated by Olivier Saillard, was originally shown in the Fashion and Textile Galleries at Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris from 21 March to 23 September 2007, and subsequently at the Centre National du Costume de Scène et de la Scénographie in Moulins, France, from 1 December 2007 to 11 May 2008. It was inaugurated at the Taipei Fine Art Museum in Taiwan on 29 May 2010 in the presence of Béatrice Salmon, Director of Les Arts Décoratifs, running until 15 August 2010.

The exhibition presented nearly 70 ballet costumes created by Jean Paul Gaultier in collaboration with Régine Chopinot for her ballets during the 1980s. The majority of the costumes came from Les Arts Décoratifs’ own collections, with 18 from the collections of the Centre National du Costume de Scène in Moulins. The exibition also included 22 original drawings by the illustrator Pauline Binoux and 24 photographs by Stéphane Sednaoui.
