The Douglas vase, created during François Azambourg’s regular sojourns at Meisenthal, highlights the use of wood moulds that are gradually consumed with each blowing. The mark of the veins of burnt wood, imprinted on the surface of the glass makes each example unique. Experimentations from reworking with heat after moulding and with variations in colour have led to the creation of series of Douglas that are flattened, twisted, or here, inflated and treated with shades of green.
